Colors of Goodbye, by September Vaudrey, is a memoir of the death of her daughter, Katie, and 3 years following. 19 year old Katie had a car accident on the way to her first day at her new job. Katie was an artist attending college. She was the middle child of 5 and her family is now faced with going on without her. They are having to learn how to be a family of 6 instead of a family of 7. This book shows how the family deals with their loss as well as how their friends and community members gather together to show their support. It shows us how the family leans on their faith and turns to God for help in moving on.
This is a wonderful book. It will bring tears to your eyes. It was hard to keep going at times and I felt a lot of sadness for what the family went through. It was encouraging to see how the family stuck together and watched out for each other. I admire the strength Tember and Bethany had to speak with their mother about sharing her grief with others.
I received a copy of the book from Tyndale publishing in exchange for an honest review.
