The Amish Firefighter is written by Laura V. Hilton is the story of Abigail Stutzman and Sam Miller. Abigail grew up thinking she had no family but her parents. Her father died and her mother remarried the father of her boyfriend. One day her step father put her on the bus with no explanation and with just the closes she is wearing. He sends her to live with her aunt and uncle that she never knew about. She finds out her parents kept a lot of secrets from her including letting her know her extended family. She becomes friends with a an Englischer and quickly finds herself set up as the suspect of fires.
Sam Miller is living the Englisch life and has not made a commitment to the Amish church. He is going to school to be a paramedic, driving a car, dating an Englisch girl and volunteers as a firefighter and an EMT. He comes home just in time to see his father’s barn is on fire and finds Abigail in the barn. He automatically accuses her of starting the fires.
This is a really good story about family, faith and forgiveness as well as knowing when God is talking to you and listening to Him. The story is so well written with so much happening it was hard to put down. Laura V Hilton is a new author to me, I will be watching for her other books.
I received a copy of the book from Book Club Network in exchange of an honest review.
