Honor Redeemed by Christine Johnson

Honor Redeemed, written by Christine Johnson, is book 2 in the Keys of Promise series. This story is set in Nantucket Island and Key West Florida in 1852. Prosperity Jones has just buried her mother. She has no job and can not afford to stay in their home. Her aunt and uncle gave her money and she decides she will go to her fiance David in Key West.

Two years earlier David was sent to Key West with the Army. He has written to Prosperity reminding her of his love for her. One night David went to a bar and had to much to drink. When he woke the next morning he did not remember anything. Later one of the girls from the bar comes to him and tells him she is carrying his baby. David prays to God to help him with this situation, but David ends up marrying the girl. His letter to Prosperity does not get to her before she leaves Nantucket Island.

Prosperity arrives in Key West to find David married and expecting a child. Out of devastation she takes a job at a hospital and becomes friends with one of the doctors who eventually proposes.

I like this story, it is a fast-paced story with a lot going on within it. It is a historical romance story that takes a turn for the worse when one night changes David life forever. As I was reading this story, I could just see and smell the ocean, it is written that good! I could imagine Prosperity walking through the streets trying to find David and getting lost. I could feel the hurt when Prosperity finds out David is married to another. This is a really good book I would recommend to others.

I received a copy of this book from Revell Publishing for an honest review.
