Blue Ridge Sunrise, by Denise Hunter, is book one in A Blue Ridge Romance series. Zoe left home five years earlier and joined a band with her current boyfriend Kyle. Kyle, Zoe and her young daughter returned home for her grandmother’s funeral. They had not planned to stay, but when the will was read, Zoe found out she was the new owner of her grandmother’s orchard. After a disagreement, Kyle left and Zoe was alone in Copper Creak with her daughter. She had no vehicle and no money.
When Zoe decided to run the orchard, she found out the orchard is financially hurting and her ex-boyfriend, Cruz, is now the manager. In an effort to turn the orchard’s finances around, Zoe and her crew clean up a building and converted it to a shop. Just as it was getting ready to open, the shop burned and Zoe is suspected of burning it for insurance money.
This is a really good story. It is fast paced and had a lot of action and suspense in the story. The story also has a little romance without getting overwhelming. The parts in the story that I really enjoyed were the memories Zoe had of her grandmother. The other things that stands out in the book is when Zoe realizes that her life cannot be planned by any man, or even herself. God is the one that has plans for her. I think anyone who enjoys reading contemporary fiction stories will enjoy this book.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher through BookLook Bloggers. This is my honest review.
