Hidden Among the Stars by Melanie Dobson

978-1-4964-1732-9

Hidden Among the Stars, by Melanie Dobson, is a novel that blends modern day Ohio with 1938 Austria. The author has created an outstanding story of life as it was during Hitlers reign. The story is so well written it is easy to imagine the fear of the Jewish people and the struggles they went through with losing their homes and possessions. We see the strength the people needed to get through each day, the trust they had in a country that would turn against them and the faith that they had. We also see the caring  Max and Annika had with helping those less fortunate. Max smuggled possessions to his family castle and Annika would record what she would hide. Annika went so far as to hide Max’s friend Luzia from the Nazis.

Modern day book store operator receives a gift that has lists of items written into the story. Trying to find out what this is, she connects with a professor that is searching for items hidden during the war. Not only is the book connected to that time in history but she finds out that one of her dear friends has ties to it as well.

This is a must read for anyone who enjoys historical fiction. The story is full of action, mystery, suspense all blended together with a touch or romance. The story grabbed my attention from page one and kept it to the very end. I received a copy of this book from Tyndale Blog Network. This is my honest review.
