Battle for her Heart by Kari Trumbo

My Review

Battle for her Heart, by Kari Trumbo, is book three in The Belle Fourche Chronicles series. This story does take over where the last one ended so it is best to read these in order. Pinkerton agent, Blake has honored his niece’s request and found Hannah and returned her to her family. Hannah carries a lot of guilt regarding her deceased husband. She truly loved him but he only wanted her family’s land and he brought danger to them. She feels unlovable and vows to have nothing to do with men, but her heart is feeling differently about Blake.

This is a nice heartwarming story of a young girl who has lived through so much but is strong and willing to stand up to her captor in court. This is a high energy story that is full of action and suspense. I really enjoyed the character of Blake and seeing how Hannah’s family is healing after the danger they were in. I especially enjoy the character of the neighbor lady who sets her husband in his place regarding reaching out to the neighbors who need protection and care.

I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book, this is my honest review.

About the Book

Hannah has learned the hardest love lesson.

Taken from her home and on the run, Hannah wants nothing more than to escape and return to her old life. The husband she loved, but who scorned her is now dead. But the man hired to hide her is vindictive and out for revenge.

Blake is a Pinkerton hired to find her. When he’s finally successful, Hannah isn’t the woman her family knew. She’s closed off, hurt, and guilt-ridden after putting her family through so much. She feels incapable of loving anyone again.

Can Blake not only return her to her family, but can he reconcile her wounded heart as well?

About the Author

Kari writes swoony heroes and places that become characters with detail and heart.
Her favorite place to write about is the place her heart lives, (even if she doesn’t) South Dakota.

Kari loves reading, listening to contemporary Christian music, singing when no one’s listening, and curling up near the wood stove when winter hits. She makes her home in central Minnesota, land of frigid toes and mosquitoes the size of compact cars, with her husband of over twenty years. They have two daughters, two sons, one cat, and one hungry wood stove.
