My Review

Blessings in the Bargain by Kari Trumbo, is the 27th book in the Independence Island Series, the third of Breakers Point. This is a series that is being written by six different authors and covers five different island. This is a nice stand alone story, but it does have characters from earlier books, so it is best to read them in order. This story is about Courtney and Lex. Two people who tend to keep to themselves are stuck at sea for days with another couple and minimal food and water.

This is a well written story that is easy to get lost in. It is a Christian romance that is filled with suspense. This is such a good story, I enjoyed reading what happened in Lex and Courtney’s background to make them the way they are and enjoyed watching how they opened up to each other. I totally enjoyed the parts where Courtney is finding ways to collect water and get food for the four people. Courtney’s intelligence and strength really stand out in this story. Lex is a caring person and takes over controlling the boat so Rafe can help his sick wife.
