God Loves Daddy & Me by Bonnie Rickner Jensen, Illustrated by Laura Watkins

God loves Daddy and me,

from morning until night…

At tuck-in time and all the time.

We’re precious in His sight.

God Loves Daddy & Me is a soft covered board book written by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and illustrated by Laura Watkins. With beautifully illustrated pictures, author uses raccoon to show how daddies and children have fun during their adventures together. They spend time going on boat rides, taking walks, doing chores and roasting marshmallows . And when something goes wrong, they learn to say “I forgive you”. Daddies are also there to help comfort the little one when he is afraid and at bedtime when they pray before being tucked into bed.

I just love this series! I love soft covered board books for young children! This book is a great size for a toddler to hold and look at. And the story, made up in rhyme, is the perfect length for little ones. The cute pictures are full of things little ones can look for in the pictures, such as birds, fireflies, stars, moon and a little lion toy. This is a very durable, easy to clean book. It is a cushioned, hard covered book with glossy hard pages to help it last a long time. This would be a great book for the daddy and little ones in your life.

God Loves Mommy & Me by Bonnie Rickner Jensen, Illustrated by Laura Watkins

Mommy’s hugs are special . . .

God made hers extra sweet.

They make me oh-so happy

from my head down to my feet!

God Loves Mommy & Me is a soft covered board book written by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and illustrated by Laura Watkins. With beautifully illustrated pictures, author uses rabbits to show how mommies and children find enjoyment in simple every day things. Mommy spends time picking dandelions to splashing in the rain and playing on the slide and swing with their children. But there are times like kissing boo-boos and getting hugs from mommies makes the little ones feel so loved.

This book is absolutely adorable! I just love soft covered board books for young children! This one is a great size for a toddler to hold and look at. And the story is perfect for little ones, made up in rhyme. With just 20 pages, it is the right length to hold a young child’s attention. The beautiful pictures are full of things little ones can look for in the pictures, such as birds and lady bugs. This is a very durable, easy to clean book. God’s Easter Miracles by Lee Ann Mancini

God gave me an Easter miracle – a changed heart! I know Jesus gave up his life for us because He loves us. I want to be like Jesus.”

God’s Easter Miracles, written by Lee Ann Mancini, is part of the multi-award winning Adventures of the Sea Kids series. It’s Easter Sunday and the Sea Kids are at Sunday School. The teacher, Miss Linda has hidden Easter eggs on the church playground. Three of the eggs have a cross on them. Who ever finds those eggs get to chose a prize.

Paul is one of Miss Linda’s favorite students. He has autism and has a hard time learning but he is always happy. Paul doesn’t think it is fair that he did not find an egg with a cross on it. Miss Linda explains to him that it is also not fair that Jesus gave His life for our sins.

Brian has come to class late and very sad. His younger brother, Lenny, was hit by a boat propeller and is seriously hurt. Pastor Jerry asks the class to pray for Lenny. During the week the entire town gathers at the Beneath the Sea Play Park to pray for Lenny.

I really love this series! This is a great series for parents and teacher to help teach children about Jesus’s love for us. It also helps teach children the importance of prayer. This story teaches children the importance of praying for others who are hurt. This story also has one of the student pray to have Jesus come into his life. Each of the stories has important messages within them. One of the messages in this story is that Jesus gave his life for us so that we may have life. Another lesson in this story is giving and sharing with others, such as when the students make get-well cards for Lenny and visit him.

This story is so nicely written and easy for the young read to read. It also is a good length to read to younger children. The pictures are so colorful and detailed, they make it easy to talk with little ones about them. Each of the pictures has a fish symbol hidden in it for children to have fun looking for. This is a great story to read and interact with children. This durable, hard covered book has a glossy finish on the cover and the pictures to help keep clean.

The author, Lee Ann Mancini, is a wife and mother who has devoted her life to being a servant of God. She teaches at a Bible college and seminary. The illustrator, Dan Sharp, has been illustrating children books for over thirty years.

I have received a copy of this book from the author and BookCrash. I have freely written an honest review.

Bible Trivia, Jokes, & Fun Facts For Kids by Troy Schmidt

Bible Trivia, Jokes and Fun Facts for Kids is a great book written by Troy Schmidt. I especially enjoyed the fun facts in this book. Using Isaiah 53:2-3, the author tells us “The passage says Jesus did not attract people by His looks. He was a regular-looking guy – not a hunky model or a tall, dark, and handsome carpenter. Isaiah also prophesied that Jesus would live a hard life (and it showed) but that He has an extraordinary love inside Him that drew many to Him.”

Schmidt uses jokes, fill in the blanks, word scrabble and words in words as some ways to help teach children the Bible in fun ways. This book, however, will be enjoyed by all ages. The jokes and facts within this book would be great openers at Bible Studies, youth groups and even Pastor’s sermons. The author also gives questions that can be used to build a conversation around Bible people and happening. Grade school children will spend hours looking through this book to find jokes to stump the people in their lives. The back of the book also has blank pages for write notes and additional jokes. The answers to the Bible trivia questions are provided up side down at the bottom of the pages so the reader can see their answers quickly and easily without searching for answers. This a great book that will help teach and provide lots of fun for all ages.

The Shepherd and the Sheep

The Shepherd and the Sheep is a lift-the-flap book for little children. The shepherd had 100 sheep and one day he found one sheep was missing. He went out to find it. He searched everywhere. He even searched a house and a boat.

Using bright colors, adorable pictures and a flap to search for the lost sheep the book teaches little children how much the shepard loves and care for his sheep. Jesus is the Good Shepherd and he cares for us, his sheep.

This is a wonderful children’s book that will encourage children to interact with the story as they learn how much God loves them. The story is short and easy to read for the young reader and the perfect size for reading to an active toddler. The book is a shiny, hard covered book that will hold up to little one’s sticky finger and the pages are durable weight folding pages. The pictures are so adorable, I just want to take dog and cuddle with him. Each page also included a rabbit and a little mouse that children will enjoy looking for. The little child will have many enjoyable hours looking behind the flap checking to see what is behind it. The book has parts of 3 different bible stories within the main story. Priced at just $4.99, this is the perfect book to give as a gift to a young child. This would make a perfect Valentine’s Day gift with the hearts on the cover and the theme of love.

Made for a Purpose by Kristie Wilde

This delightful book appeals to the “why?” in every child, inspiring them to discover God’s wisdom displayed in the world around, as well as within them.”

Made for a Purpose is book one in the Joyful Creation Series written by Kristie Wilde. With just 18 pages to the story, Kristie helps children understand why beaver have such long teeth, how ducks can swim, how woodpeckers are able to dig into trees, why frogs have eyes on their head, why turtle’s shells are so hard, how fish can swim under water, and how chipmunks can carry so much in their mouths. The author tells us that God made us to enjoy Him and the nature He made for us.

This is a cute paper back story for the young reader as well as the younger child who enjoys being read too. The child will learn from the beautiful pictures and the information in the story. I like how the author wrote such an informative little story that children will enjoy learning about animals and how they live. This is a book that will catch a little one’s interest, not just the story but through the pictures with picking out the animals and nature within them. The shiny book cover will be easy to clean sticky finger prints from. The pages are fairly thick to help with bending from the young child. I think any family with young children will benefit from having this book in their home.

Lots of Love by Kim Washburn

I climb in bed for tuck-in. This day has been the best. I got love and I gave it too, and now it’s time to rest.”

Lots of Love by Kim Washburn is a hard covered, board book that follows a young girl from when she wakes up Valentine’s morning through her day. She spends time playing with a little dog and snuggling with her mommy. He daddy takes her to school where she helps clean up, spends time with her friends, and makes a glittery heart that she gives her teacher. When she gets home she tells her family she loves them.

This is a very cute Valentine’s Day story for the preschooler and young reader. I like how the story follows this little girl through her day as she helps others, gives and receives love from her family, friends and teacher. As well as how it explains that God is who gives us what we have and how much he loves us.

Being a board book, this is a very durable book for the younger child but an older child may find this a little childish. The pages are brightly colored pictures of children, animals and adults in varying scenes such as out doors, in school and at home. The story is written in rhyme and teaches those reading and listening to the book about the love shared between family and friends. This is the perfect book to spend time snuggling and reading with a younger child.

Jesus Shows Me by Callie Grant

jesusshowsmePenguin fathers snuggle Mother ducks lead. Wolves watch. Each animal knows the best way for its kind to live. God made them that way. He made you for a certain kind of life, too – a life with Him. Jesus shows you how…”

Jesus Shows Me, written by Callie Grant, is part of the Knowing My God series. This book focuses on John 15:9-14. With 18 beautiful pages, the child will the Bible verses as well as about different animals and how them protect and teach their young. The pages included real life photos of penguins, kangaroo, ducks, dolphins, wolves, zebra, and elephant. This book is meant for all ages of children. It will allow the baby to hear your voice, for the toddler, is helps teach them by talking about the pictures, and for the older child, they will learn the Bible verse as well as the information about the different type of animals. The book also supplies discussion questions at the end to help talk with the older child about friendship and love.

This is my favorite book in this series! I love that the author has used this particular Bible verse to teach about Gods love for us and our love for others. I also like how the author has used animals and how they care for their family. She provides information that I did not know, so this book will also be fun for adults to read to their children.

This is a very durable board book, with shiny, easy to clean pages. It is a good size for children to hold and carry as well. I enjoyed looking at the real life photos of the parent animal and their young as well.

I’m Going To Give You A Bear Hug! by Caroline B. Cooney

I’m going to give you a bear hug. A show you how much I care hug. A good night, Sleep tight,Way beyond compare hug.”

I’m going to give you a Bear Hug! written by Caroline B Cooney is a bed time book for young children. This hard covered book has brightly colored pages of different animals hugging young children Some of the animals pictured are bear, dog, cat, horse, duck, pig, fish, whale, caterpillar and sheep.

This is a cute short story. I look forward to reading this to my grandsons. I like that the author included several different types of animals in the story, especially the fish and the whale. Young children will be able to learn to say the animal names with repeated reading and interaction. For the more active child, this may not be a good book to read before bedtime as they may want to interact like the characters in the story.

The book is written for children ages 4 to 8. I think this book is for the child that enjoys being read to, more than for the child learning how to read. Some of the words would be a little hard for the average young reader.

With 32 shiny colorful pages, this books gives the adult the opportunity to read to their child a short story that will reaffirm that they are loved. Tim Warness has done a wonderful job illustrating the pictures for this book. While the book is published by a Christian publishing company, the only Christian reference is to say a prayer before bedtime.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher BookLook Bloggers and I have written an honest review.
