Really Woolly Christmas Blessings by Bonnie Rickner Jensen, Illustrated by Donna Chapman

Really Woolly Christmas Blessings is written by Bonnie Rickner Jensen and illustrated by Donna Chapman. The book contains 18 sections that are titled “The Blessing of”. These blessing include Jesus and the things associated with his birth as well as different things we include in our Christmas traditions. Each of the 18 sections is made up of a bible verse, a poem and end with a short prayer.

This is a hard covered board book that is very durable for young children. The pages contain brightly colored pictures and are easy to clean. There are little animals that follow through the story for children to point to. The little lamb, bunny, duck and chipmunks are really adorable.

This is a cute story book for older toddlers. Being a board book I expected to see more pictures and less words. With the 8 lined poems on each pages, this book really is not a story book to read through at one sitting for the youngest children. With the sections ending in prayers, this is a good book to help young children learn to pray to God. I think this book could be used to introduce per-schoolers to devotional time.

I received a copy of this book from BookLook Bloggers. This is my honest review.

God’s Gift by Lee Ann Mancini

God’s Gift is written by Lee Ann Mancini and is part of the award winning Adventures of the Sea Kids series. It’s the Christmas season and the Sea Kids are helping their families get ready for Christmas. Christian helps his father put lights on the tree and decorate the manger with Baby Jesus. Jacob helps his father prepare for Hanukkah. They put a giant menorah in their yard and light candles each day.

The next day while playing at the coralhood playground Christian and Jacob get into an argument over who gets the most gifts. When the children get home they question their parents about getting more gifts. Christian and Jacob’s mothers take the children to each others homes to teach them the difference between Christmas and Hanukkah. Even though they celebrate the Christmas season differently they celebrate for the same reason. They learn that Christmas is about God sending Jesus as a gift. The lighting of the menorah reminds us of miracle of light given to the Jews from God. The children learn that Christmas is not about gifts under the tree or gifts on each day of Hanukkah, they learn the true meaning of Christmas.

The is a wonderful Christmas story for children that teaches the true gifts from God. The book is a shiny hard cover book with shiny brightly colored pages. The story is perfect for a story to be read to a young child or for a young reader to read. The story is a great way to teach children about difference that each family celebrates as well as to help them learn Christmas is not just about getting gifts.

Like the other book in the Adventure of the Sea Kids, this book has hidden objects in the pictures for those reading it to find. This is a great way to interact with children while reading and discussing the story.  The pictures also contain brightly colored sea creatures to help teach children about sea animals.

The author has written an award winning series that helps children learn the Gospel of Jesus Christ. and build a relationship with Jesus. This series is great, but this Christmas story is absolutely wonderful! This is a series that would be great for every family with children to have. With this book , part of the proceed is being donated to Christian children’s charities. The author, Lee Ann Mancini holds a bachelor of Religious Studies, a Master of Christian Studies and is an Adjunct Professor as well as a wife and mother. Dan Sharp, the illustrator is an artist with over thirty years illustrating children’s books.

The BEST Christmas Gift EVER! by Melinda Rambaugh

“It’s Christmastime, and the Veggies are celebrating in many ways. But they know that Christmas is really all about God’s gift of Jesus.”

The BEST Christmas Gift EVER! Is written by Melinda Rumbaugh, Illustrated by Lisa Reed and Designed by Georgina Chidlow. This story follows the VeggieTales kids through Christmas. They take a ride in a sleigh, decorate a Christmas tree and sing carols. They give gifts they buy, make or bake.

The story points out that the gifts we exchange during Christmas show that we care. But the best Christmas gift came a long time ago, born far away in a manger lit up only by a bright star. “The present was Jesus, God’s gift to the earth, who came here to save us – a king at his birth!”

This is an adorable book for young children, especially for the Christmas season. It is a small board book just perfectly sized for young children to hold. The pages are shiny and stiff so easy to clean and will not be damaged easily. But the pictures are amazing, they will hold a child’s interest for a long time! They are so detailed in very bright colors, that will make interacting with a child a fun experience. But my favorite part is the story. It is short but direct. It covers common Christmastime traditions but focuses mainly on the birth of Jesus and that He was sent by God to save us.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has children in or visit their home. If I could I would give this book a 10 star it is that amazing!

I want to thank Worthy Publishing and First Look Blog Tours for this book! It is simply amazing and I have written an honest review.
